Associate Veterinarian

Dr Zilkha has over 28 years of experience in the veterinary profession. She earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Zoology from the University of Texas at Austin and her Doctorate in Veterinary Medicine from Texas A&M’s College of Veterinary Medicine in 2005. Dr Zilkha was born in Israel and grew up in Houston. Shortly after veterinary school, Dr Zilkha experienced the tremendous impact she could make on the quality of life of dogs and cats by preventing and treating dental disease. She had learned in veterinary school that by the age of 3 over 87% of dogs and 70% of cats suffer from periodontal disease, but the overwhelmingly positive feedback from pet owners after treatment ignited her passion for veterinary dentistry. She has attended many seminars and practical workshops and dentistry remains her favorite veterinary subject. Dr Zilkha’s other veterinary interests include soft tissue surgery, client education, and internal medicine. Outside of the vet clinic Dr Zilkha enjoys creative projects and spending time with her family, including her two daughters Maya and Jordan. When the weather cooperates, they especially enjoy going to the dog park with their Alaskan Malamute, Skye.
