Dr. Audrey J. Wystrach
Dr. Wystrach grew up on a working cattle ranch with her five siblings in southern Arizona. She has spent nineteen years in companion animal private practice and two years in corporate veterinary practice. Over her career she has developed, administrated and owned veterinary hospitals. She received her DVM from Colorado State University in 1994. As the Co-founder and Chief Operating Officer of Zippivet, Dr. Wystrach is committed to client education, premium customer service and excellent veterinary care. As a working mother of three she understands the challenges of a busy life and strives to bring convenience and affordability to veterinary medicine.
Cynthia V. Torrez, DVM
Dr. Torrez graduated with a BS in Chemistry from M.I.T. She started her path to veterinary medicine by earning a BS in Zoology at the University of Texas with honors, then gained experience working at the Austin Zoo and Town Lake Animal Center. She graduated Magna Cum Laude from Texas A&M College of Veterinary Medicine in 2005. Dr. Torrez enjoys internal medicine, dermatology and dealing with animal behavior cases. In addition, her love of cats and their specific needs is her special focus. Dr. Torrez loves spending time with her husband and son when she is not taking care of pets.
Cristin L. McCamish, DVM
Dr. McCamish started her veterinary pursuit in Vero Beach, Florida where her family took in pets other families could no longer care for. She earned her veterinary degree from Ross University School of Veterinary Medicine in 2009, completing the PAVE program during her studies. She completed her veterinary training with a clinical year at Louisiana State University then worked with small and exotic pets in and around Houston from 2009 to 2014. Dr. McCamish is a wife and mother to two children. Her family enjoys raising chickens as well as the companionship of their cats and dogs.
Mary Ann Scavone, DVM
Staff Veterinarian, North Austin ZippiVet
Dr. Scavone started “doctoring” animals at age five. An only girl in a rowdy Sicilian/Irish Catholic Army family of seven: four doctors, a nurse, and two engineers. Dr. Scavone grew up in Austin in the 1970’s, attended first the University of Texas, before graduating with multiple degrees from Texas A&M University. Dr. Scavone has been a small animal practitioner since 1983, as well as a single mom of three beautiful adult sons. Dr. Scavone is passionate about work, learning, animal welfare and education for the prevention of animal suffering. When Dr. Scavone is not busy helping pets, she enjoys traveling, gardening, DIY home and automotive projects, cooking, playing piano, and spending time with her sons and pets.
Elizabeth P. D’sa, DVM
Staff Veterinarian, South Austin ZippiVet
Dr. D’sa is a native Texan born in San Antonio and raised in the Dallas-Fort Worth area. She is a 2010 graduate of The Ohio State University College of Veterinary Medicine. She received her bachelor’s degree from the University of Findlay. She and her husband moved to Austin in 2013 with their three cats and shortly thereafter adopted their one-eyed Cockapoo, Jesse. Dr. D’sa’s professional interests include surgery and feline medicine. Outside of work, she sings women’s barbershop as a member of Sweet Adelines International.
Manager of Clinical Operations and Development
Jocelyn entered the veterinary field in 2002 as a veterinary technician at a full service animal hospital. Seeking to expand her knowledge base, she transitioned into a critical care setting, and later moved to Washington D.C. to work at a veterinary specialty and emergency hospital where she gained invaluable dental and surgical training and experience. In 2007, Jocelyn moved back to the Lone Star State to run a practice dedicated to veterinary dentistry. Jocelyn’s most recent adventures include serving as clinic director of a high volume, non-profit veterinary organization. Jocelyn’s hobbies include continuing her learning of all things veterinary and spending time with her four-year old son, Liam, husband Scott, and their menagerie of pets, including a Chihuahua named Jefe, Senator Eugene Crumblestein the cat, and a flock of backyard chickens.
Christina "Chrissy" Rugg
Chrissy has been working with small animals as a veterinary technician for sixteen years. She has always enjoyed working in veterinary medicine and has a special interest in feline behavior. With two cats and three chihuahuas, Chrissy enjoys reading, painting, gardening, and spending time with her niece and six nephews.
Samuel “Keith” Fernandez
Keith has worked in the pet care world for more than twenty years - including time as an accomplished dog trainer with Unleashed Unlimited. He brings an amazing perspective to the practice with his understanding of canine behavior. As a veterinary technician, he started his career with a mixed animal practice in East Texas. Keith has been in Austin for six years and is committed to his career in the veterinary field. When he is not working he enjoys spending time with his wife and children and is known as an exceptional cook.
Debby earned her associate’s degree in animal science in 1994 and has been a veterinary technician ever since. Truly passionate about veterinary medicine, Debby brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise to the ZippiVet team, and has a special interest in surgical procedures and anesthetic assisting. Debby shares her home with her daughter Tiana, two boisterous Australian Shepherds, and a cantankerous geriatric cat. When not at the clinic, she enjoys automotive repair and modification projects and country line dancing.
Jillian joined the ZippiVet team in 2016, having worked as a veterinary technician for seven years. She came to the industry after 10 years as an event coordinator. Her experience with her own two rescue dogs made her passionate about the human/animal bond. She loves being able to share that passion with co-workers and clients, and values the opportunity to help keep their animals healthy and happy.
Jaclyn is a native Texan that moved to Colorado at a young age. After receiving her associate's degree in animal ccience from Bel-Rea Institute of Animal Technology, Jaclyn decided to move back to her home state of Texas to pursue her passion for veterinary medicine. Jaclyn shares her home with an adorable rescue Schnauzer named Rusty, and looks forward to meeting ZippiVet’s amazing clientele.
Certified Veterinary Assistant, Dental Technician
A New Jersey transplant, Scott started his veterinary career in 2003 working in a specialty hospital in Washington, D.C. After gaining experience in critical care and orthopedics, Scott moved to Austin, Texas and joined a practice dedicated to veterinary dentistry, where he discovered his passion for dentistry. Scott has worked in multiple environments during his 13 years in the veterinary field, including emergency, specialty, high volume spay and neuter, and full service clinics. When Scott isn’t busy learning about dentistry, he enjoys spending time with his family and pets, which include an exceptional Doberman named Judge, Mannix the cat, nine chickens, and two sugar gliders.
Rae joined ZippiVet in June 2016 after several years as a veterinary assistant in a high-volume, non-profit veterinary practice. An avid learner, Rae is currently attending classes to receive her degree in veterinary technology. Rae shares her home with her dog, Rosie, cat Luna. When not studying or at work, Rae enjoys traveling and all things outdoors: cycling, swimming, hiking, and camping.
Chase joined Zippivet in 2016 after moving back to Austin from the Texas Panhandle. Chase's background includes several years working at Austin Pets Alive and Animal Trustees of Austin as a veterinary technician, where he learned how to expertly handle fearful cats and dogs. When not at Zippivet, Chase enjoys hiking with his dog, Cubby, and shares his home with his cat, Eli.
Kasey joined the ZippiTeam in June 2016, bringing 18 years of knowledge and experience to the team. Throughout her career, Kasey has worked with big cats (lions and tigers), in wildlife rescue and rehabilitation, and as a surgical, dental, and critical care technician. Kasey shares her home with her son and their dogs, cats, and chickens.
Kristian became involved in animal care as a volunteer at Town Lake Animal Shelter in 2005. It was here that he developed a passion for animal welfare, and gained exposure to dog training and veterinary care for animals that were going into adoption. He transitioned to Animal Trustees of Austin as a full time veterinary technician at the Wellness Clinic for eight years, at which point he joined Zippivet. Kristian shares a home with his family, five dogs, and a bearded dragon.
Kristina has loved all animals since a young age, and frequently found herself employed as the neighborhood petsitter during her teens. After graduating, Kristina worked at PetSmart for three years until she discovered her passion for working in animal welfare. Kristina spent several years working at a wildlife reservation, and then worked at Cat Haven with over 90 cats for seven years. In 2008 Kristina began working at Banfield and transitioned to Zippivet in June 2015. Kristina shares her home with her family and Doodles the cat.
Kelly joined ZippiVet in 2016 after many years as an equine veterinary technician in Elgin, TX. Prior to that, she worked as a receptionist at a high-volume, non-profit veterinary practice. She is an avid supporter of animal rescues and strives to educate clients about the importance of spaying and neutering and general animal wellness. When not at work, she enjoys spending time with her two dogs, Bella and Olive, and her recently adopted former equine patient, Cactus.
Rosa joined Zippivet in the spring of 2016 after over a decade in non-profit animal welfare and critical care settings. When not at work, Rosa is an avid gardener and shares her home with her family, dogs, and two beautiful Persian cats, Mufasa and Nala.
Grant joined ZippiVet as part-time seasonal employee in June 2016. As the son of a veterinarian, Grant brings a large knowledge base and preternatural sense of veterinary operations to the team. Grant spends his free time roping and shares his home with an adorable PomChi named Swiper.

Lindsey joined ZippiVet in May 2016 to explore the veterinary medical profession first-hand while on summer vacation.
